David White, Ph.D.

 

David is a partner and founder of Culture Logics. He was also the co-founder and partner at Ontos Global, a boutique consultancy founded in 2010. 

 

He has spent nearly 35 years helping organizations manage and sustain change. His research and practice focuses on new approaches to organizational culture and transformation based on modern cognitive science. He has written two books that fundamentally challenge the way culture is thought of and practiced in the business world, the most recent being Disrupting Corporate Culture.

 

As a change and leadership development practitioner working with global companies and start-ups, he designs and implements executive leadership and organizational transformation programs, as well as coaching senior executives to do the same. He has worked with companies as diverse as JCI, ITT, Xylem, Mercury Systems, GE, OpenDoor, Fidelity Investments, Pratt & Whitney, Bayer, Biogen, and Kaiser Permanente, among many others.

From 2003 until 2010 he was Director of Talent and Organizational Capability at Microsoft, where he led the development of Microsoft’s integrated platform for people management and leadership development deployed to 100,000 people worldwide. Prior to Microsoft, David was a Principal at Mercer HR Consulting, cofounded an Internet technology company focused on integrated talent management (acquired by Mercer), created the HR function for an early internet advertising start-up (acquired ultimately by Yahoo), and spent several years at Lotus Development (IBM) in line and corporate HR roles.

David is a graduate of Pomona College (USA). He trained at the Gestalt International Study Center and received his Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems, specializing in cognitive anthropology and cultural psychology.

 

He began his corporate career as an executive recruiter in investment banking in New York, having come from a prior career in aviation as a flight instructor and charter pilot.

David grew up in Chile, Spain, and the United States, and speaks Spanish. He is also a professional jazz guitarist and composer with 7 released albums to his credit (dwhitejazz.com).
